{"id":1674,"date":"2016-11-14T21:30:10","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T21:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-lovette-lab.pantheonsite.io\/?p=1674"},"modified":"2016-11-14T21:30:10","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T21:30:10","slug":"natalie-hoffmeister-and-cornell-team-receive-aauw-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovette.eeb.cornell.edu\/?p=1674","title":{"rendered":"Natalie Hoffmeister and Cornell team receive AAUW grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate student Natalie Hoffmeister is one of the leaders of a collaborative team from across Cornell that just received a substantial grant for a project entitled \u201cEmpowering Women in STEM to Lead through Inclusive Practice and Community Building.\u201d After completing Cornell\u2019s first Intergroup Dialogue course for graduate students, Natalie wanted to make this opportunity available for more of Cornell\u2019s graduate students. Training future teachers and leaders in how to address bias and discrimination is imperative to creating a diverse, healthy community in the sciences. Natalie and the team have secured funding from the American Association of University Women\u2019s Campus Action Project grant for 72 graduate students across Cornell to participate in a series of workshops that will focus on the issues faced by underrepresented groups in the sciences.
