Irby Lovette just began a three-year term as the incoming Director of the Cornell Museum of Vertebrates, the home of the research collections that are co-located with the Lab in the Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity. The CUMV is small in terms of staff — just three additional professionals (Casey Dillman, Vanya Rohwer, and Charles Dardia) are entirely based in the museum — but large in terms of specimens (about two million fishes, herps, birds, and mammals!) and in its multifaceted and important ongoing contributions to scientific research, conservation, and the training of future generations of biodiversity-savvy Cornell students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
