Shawn Billerman is the recipient of an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship and we are all accordingly very excited about his forthcoming return to Cornell! In the Fall Shawn will begin working here on the genomics of hybrids zones in the Great Plains, based in part on the CUMV’s large collection of hybrid specimens from the 1950s. Shawn is currently completing his PhD under (another lab group alumnus) Matt Carling at the University of Wyoming; previously Shawn was a Cornell undergraduate (Class of 2009), and then a Lab of Ornithology staff member (2009-11) while working on the Bird Families of the World book.
