Research associate Leo Campagna and postdoc Nati Garcia are co-leading the “Ecology and Conservation of Wildlife in the Neotropics” course that started in Fall 2018 and featured another successful field trip to coastal Patagonia over Winter Break. Leo and Nati were joined in their winter migration by Eliot Miller (Collections Development Manager of the Macaulay Library), and nine intrepid undergraduate Cornell students.
On the last night in Bahia Bustamante lodge, after the traditional Patagonia Olympics, the students shared what they liked best about the course. The highlights included dolphins (so many dolphins!) and having the chance to develop an entire research project by themselves, from coming up with an idea to taking data, analyzing it, and eventually writing a paper about it.
