Dave Toews gives Johnson Award talk at AOS

Dave Toews gave a great talk to a large AOS conference audience as the 2019 winner of the Ned K. Johnson Early Investigator Award. Dave recently moved to his new position as an Assistant Professor at Penn State, but much of his talk centered on studies that he did during his postdoc years with us at Cornell. Warmest of congratulations to Dave on this significant honor from the AOS, and for starting the conference off in an engaging and approachable way that helped make warbler genomics accessible even to non-specialists.

Also notable: all three of the Early Career awards this year went to Lab of Ornithology postdocs, with strong talks later in the meeting by Kyle Horton and Karan Odom!
