Petra’s excellent dissertation seminar!

Grad student Petra Deane-Coe presented her dissertation seminar at the EEB departmental seminar slot on April 24th. The title of her talk was “Genomic signatures of recent adaptive divergence in the swamp sparrow (Melospiza georgiana)” and her seminar itself was a model of clarity and polished presentation, on top of being an exciting recapitulation of all that Petra has discovered about this fascinating sparrow system in which adaptation and divergence have been rapid and strong. Petra concluded her talk with a moving dedication to her late co-advisor Rick Harrison; had he been with us on Monday, Rick would certainly have been very proud of Petra and the high quality of her seminar presentation.
